Bless Wallscapes

Inspired by and developed for the exhibition BLESS fits every style at the Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam, the Bless wallscapes are documents of interiors where Bless products live or have lived.
The wallscape posters can either be purchased as posters of a 3 m high x4m wide format (coming in 9 strips of 44,5 cm ) or as some sort of a paravent, made of 4 wooden panels. These wooden panels include eventually in addition some 3 dimensional shelves that enhance the feeling of confusion while aproaching, because real objects melt virtually into the 2 dimensional space. The visitor has the feeling of walking into a collage. Available by email or phone order (213) 617-1105.

Voila!  -I kinda want one for my dorm room.

Anna Wintour

“No one would bother disputing the assertion that Wintour is the most powerful person in fashion, and that she exerts her power in a variety of directions, beyond editorial decisions. But what’s the impact of all that power? And, more, what’s the downside?” —Cathy Horyn, on Anna’s “60 Minutes” segment.
Well, she is fabulous...  Vogue has and forever will be my magazine of choice.  Wintour has held the position of editor-in-chief of American Vogue since 1988.  But Cathy Horyn raises a good point, what’s exactly is the impact of all that power? And, more importantly, what’s the downside?  Is there a downside?  All of us know (or perhaps we don't?), Wintour is a signature face at all the top fashion shows.  Hell, and her presence has made her an iconic figure.  I suppose her large black rimmed glasses and bob haircut don't exactly help her blend into the crowd.  Regardless, her presence at these shows aid her with ammunition to fire at us via Vogue and other publications and through the artists that she inspires.  The positive side is she's a innovative working woman who serves as the inciting cause of many independent fashionistas.  Despite her applause-worthy guidance I'm thinking maybe we shouldn't give her that much credit, after all there are many noteworthy bloggers out there who do just as good a job (if not better?).  So, in addressing the downside of Wintour's power in the fashion world that Cathy Horyn so bravely brings up, I would say that innovation is on the rise.  Younger generations have what it takes to grasp the torch from Wintour and run with it.  If blogs aren't enough evidence of this I don't know what is.  One thing I will applaud Wintour for, however, is her dedication and determination to support younger fashion designers that are on the rise...  Hmm... But what about the rest of us Anna?

Woody's 40th Film: Whatever Works

Honestly, I can't think of a better birthday gift than a new Woody Allen movie. Whatever Works, featuring Larry David and Evan Rachel Wood marks Allen's return to New York after a four film sojourn in Europe (personally, I don't blame him... though older fans complained). David stars as Boris Yelnikoff, an eccentric, misanthropic chess teacher from Greenwich Village who comes home one night and finds a young woman (Evan Rachel Wood) lying on his doorstep. After taking her in for only one night he falls in love and eventually marries her, despite the 40 year age difference and her striking absent mindedness. Boris' thought on the matter is that life is short and you might as well enjoy yourself. Well he's right isn't he?

Alexander Wang vs. F21

WHY would anyone waste their money on an Alexander Wang tank top when they can find exactly the same thing from Forever 21 for not even a quarter of the price?  Please, someone explain this to me.  If you think they're too tight you solve the problem by getting a Large or Extra Large.

Buy Me...

Why is this Alexander Wang (beautifully) holey sweater dress already sold out on Net-a-Porter??!  Gah, are we not supposed to be in a recession?

Regardless, on another note I really adore these Sigerson Morrison pull on booties that are now on La Garconne.

Stella McCartney's Test Drive

For starters, I love the simplicity (yet chicness) of Stella McCartney's Spring 2010 Collection, here, take a look for yourself:
Table-cloth dress? I think so...

Take your old black jacket... But add a twist -shoulder pads... Hmm... And the black leggings that just never seem to go away.  Oh, don't forget the booties.
I'm loving the white.  It reminds me of my mom twenty years ago.  So fab.
Simple white shirt (tied like a younger Britney Spears?) with shiny black leggings and a classy pair of stilettos.  Voila!
